The Kodak 1400 printer uses dye sublimation to transfer an image from a ribbon to Kodak’s proprietary Ektatherm paper. Since the printer sublimates the dye during the printing process, the printed image won’t transfer to another medium.

Select the tab labeled “Features” or “Print/Quality” and choose the type of paper you are printing on in the “Paper Type” or “Paper Is” drop-down menu. Click on the drop-down menu labeled “Size” or “Size Is” and select “Legal” or “A5” from the list. Click on the “OK” button to save your selections.
Try rubbing alcohol to erase ink. You can apply isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to any paper you’re trying to erase the ink from. If you only have a small amount of ink to erase, use a cotton swab. If you want to erase most of the ink from a page, soak the paper in a small washing tray for 5 minutes.
Load the paper Open the rear tray cover (A) and then pull up the paper support (B). Open the feed slot cover (C). Slide the paper guides to open them, and load the paper in the center of the rear tray with the print side facing up. Load photo paper with the glossy side facing up.
Create a white surface. Try sticking a small white label onto the surface you are labelling and adding a transparent label on top. The area you have set to be white will be left blank and the white label will be visible through the transparent label, which effectively creates the appearance of white text.
You can use any branded photo paper with a minimum weight of 180 GSM for printing. You can either use glossy or a matte finish photo paper. But, the finish depends upon the country and the document applied. Printing passport photo on a Plain paper, card and other non-photographic papers will not be accepted.
